New York Police said former Giants linebacker star Lawrence Taylor arrested Thursday for rape allegation at a hotel in Montebello. However, Taylor hasn’t been charged yet. According to Ramapo detective Lt. Brad Weidel, the charges would be filed when the whole process of the investigation is completed.
Still according to Weidel, just before Lawrence Taylor arrested Thursday for rape allegation, the reported rape has already been investigated at the Holidome Hotel.
Police plan to hold a news conference on this afternoon. At this time, they still deny to respond on some questions including whether Lawrence Taylor had a lawyer or not.
Police said the 51-years-old NFL veteran Lawrence Taylor is living in Pembroke Pines, Fla.
Taylor, the longtime Giants star, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999. He was suspended several times during his 13-year career for drug use and has admitted to battling alcohol and drug addiction. In the past few years, Taylor has re-emerged as a public personality, including on N.F.L. broadcasts, and has said his drug problems are in his past.
Last November, he was charged in Dade County, Fla. with leaving the scene of an accident. He was released on $500 bond and the case is still pending.
